- All members must comply with the Environment Agency bylaws and hold 1 valid rod license for the use of one or two rods and 2 valid rod licenses for three or four rods. Members must have their membership card and E.A. rod licenses with them at all times. No person shall be any further away from their rods than the next swim either side of them.
- There will be a closed season on all lakes from 9am on 1 st April to 6pm on 30 th April. We reserve the right to alter this date if required. All members will be expected to do at least one work party every 2 years.
- Members and their guests enter all Medway Valley Fisheries venues at their own risk and members are responsible for the behaviour of their guests.
- Members are always responsible for keeping their swims and surrounding areas litter free. Please ensure that you take all litter home with you and failure to do so will result in a life ban.
- No trees or vegetation are too be cut back or damaged for any reason without our prior consent. Please respect all wild life.
- Strictly no fires of any kind but small barbecues are acceptable but not on the wooden jetties.
- Your fishing area is half the distance to the next angler or halfway across the lake if anglers are fishing opposite. Common sense & angling etiquette is expected at all times.
- All gates must be securely locked when entering and leaving any of our complexes.
- All vehicles are to be parked in the designated spaces/car parks.
- No parking on the Tesco Bank on the Big Lake at Leybourne.
- A maximum of 3 rods on Big, Trout, Ford & Brooklands Lakes (unless you have paid the 4th rod supplement on Brooklands only) and 2 rods on Woodlands 1 from 1 st May to 30 th September and 3 rods the rest of the season.
- Junior members who wish to fish after 6pm or before 6am must be accompanied by a fishing parent member and occupy the same swim. There is a 2 rod limit for all junior members.
- All members who leave the club must return their gate keys and membership card as they are both the property of Medway Valley Fisheries and you will be refunded £10 per key when you do so. We reserve the right to take legal action to recover these items, at your expense, if necessary.
- No loud behaviour. Remember that peace and quiet catches more fish.
- Human waste is just about the worse waste there is. Please use the toilets provided or take it home with you.
- Maximum stay of 96 hours (4 days) on the lakes in any 7 days.
- Please ensure you have suitable unhooking aids with you, e.g. disgorger or forceps along with an unhooking mat of minimum 42 x 30 inches.
- When netting, weighing and photographing fish please take the utmost care to protect the fish and if in doubt about its health please return it to the water immediately.
- No carp or pike are to be placed in keep nets.
- No particles allowed with the exception of sweetcorn and hemp (which must be pre-prepared).
- No trout pellets are allowed.
- When pike fishing please use only barb-less trebles and do not use crushed barb hooks.
- Lead core is banned and braid is only to be used on marker and spod rods.
- No shock leaders allowed. Maximum reel line strength of 15lb.
- No fixed leads and no leads in excess of 4oz’s.
- No permanent markers.
- All fishing to be done from designated swims only.
- No fishing from the Towpath Bank on the Trout Lake or the Housing Bank at Woodlands Lake. The Housing Bank on the Ford Lake can only be fished from dawn to dusk.
- No swimming or boating for any reason.
- No bait boats allowed.
- Any member who introduces a friend to the club who subsequently gets banned will also lose their place.
- Due to the growing concerns of fish going missing there is a full publicity ban unless previously sanctioned by Tony, The Fisheries Manager.
- Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances whether it be to a bailiff, fellow member or a member of the public.
- Bailiffs have the authority to request that you reel in your rods in order to ensure that no illegal baits or rigs are being used.
- All our bailiffs have been handpicked and work closely with Medway Valley Fisheries and all their decisions are final.
